This piece is inspired by a row of Ti Plants at the Jallianwala Bagh Memorial Garden in Amritsar, India, originally photographed by my partner during a recent trip to India.
This current collection from my ongoing Urban Nature works includes some large scale pieces inspired by time spent in diverse environments including los angeles, Las Vegas, and Puglia over the last 12 months, as well as parts of India, Canada and the Greek Islands, exploring the impact of native and non-native plant-life on local ecosystems and environments. these pieces are inspired by non-indigenous and invasive plant-life, and encourage contemplation on the impact they have on the environment, ecosystem, and community.
The garden is an important landmark in the Punjab region of India, from where my partner’s family hails, and this piece is dedicated to them.
